After being helped through her treatments by the Giannopolous Foundation, she is determined to pay them back by working for them. Thanks to a set of lucky circumstances, Zoe is offered a job at the center in Greece by none other than Vasso Giannopolous, one of the founders.

I really liked Zoe. She realizes how lucky she is that she is cancer free and is deter Good book. She realizes how lucky she is that she is cancer free and is determined to make the best of the rest of her life. Her personality is bright and cheerful and she seems to always look on the bright side of things.

I loved watching her settle in on Paxos, making friends and coming up with ideas to make the patients’ lives better. With her experience as a patient herself, she has a unique perspective, which makes her very empathetic to the people who are there. The one drawback is that she seems convinced that the cancer will return, in spite of what the doctor told her, and therefore doesn’t allow herself to believe in a normal future.

I thought Vasso was terrific. He and his brother grew up poor, as the sons of a fisherman. When their father died of cancer because they couldn’t afford medical care they swore they would do something about it. After making their fortunes, they started centers to help those who couldn’t afford the care. Vasso has made his work his life after losing his heart to a woman who broke it. He has protected his heart ever since. There was a connection between Zoe and Vasso from the moment they met.

Vasso was blown away by Zoe’s beauty, but also by the courage he saw in the way she has overcome her problems. He felt a need to do anything he could to get her to Paxos.

Zoe felt the connection also, but was determined to keep it strictly professional and friendly. I really liked the way that Vasso realized so quickly what his feelings for Zoe were. He was so sweet and romantic with all the things he did for her.

I ached for him when she kept pushing him away, because it hurt him so much. I got really frustrated with Zoe when she wouldn’t tell him why. She was so in love with him, but too afraid to take a chance. I wanted to shake her when she ran away. I loved the way the doctor talked to her and finally made her see what she was doing. I liked the ending with her big moment and how she surprised Vasso.

The picture draws me in at first and the backdrop story of Zoe who have found her new lease of life after her cancer treatment and remission. And then walked in Vasso Giannopolous after Father Debakis made the initial introduction and just like that, Zoe’s new zest for life charmed Vasso’s heart and to me, that is the best love story plot line, falling in love slowly and it just creeped in inside your deepest soul and hidden heart.

Would love more Greek language added to the book actually so could The picture draws me in at first and the backdrop story of Zoe who have found her new lease of life after her cancer treatment and remission. Would love more Greek language added to the book actually so could be bonus learning Greek too! Jun 01, Hopefulpuffin rated it it was ok. I gave it a very, very generous two stars because the Greek tycoon wasn’t an alpha ass. It also had more Greek culture in it than I was expecting I want to go out for Gerke food now!

Really and truly. That doesn’t make it bad or detract stars, it was just unexpected from the blurb. Zoe was annoying with her “I’m going to die any second” issues.

I get that cancer sucks and remission is a bit of a crap shoot bu I gave it a very, very generous two stars because the Greek tycoon wasn’t an alpha ass.

I get that cancer sucks and remission is a bit of a crap shoot but holy not listening to her doctors or getting her point of therapy! Vasso was better although I had to keep laughing when they’d refer to “store number 4”. Another word about language. She keeps in constant touch and loves you very much. Louise held out a photograph, which Tracey plucked from her fingers. At first glance, the picture of the elegant woman staring back meant little to Tracey. But upon closer inspection, the facial features began to be familiar and her throat started to work.

A-Aunt Rose! The doctor beamed. That woman is your Aunt Rose Harris. You were living with her when the accident happened. Do you remember? Some of the memories were so poignant and had been dammed up for so long, they came rushing in faster than she could assimilate them. Yet overriding them all was a sudden deep, piercing sadness, too indescribable for words. Trying to shake it off, she cried, “I want to see Aunt Rose.

I have to see her, she said, her voice throbbing. Let me walk out with you,” Tracey begged, feeling a sudden compulsion to communicate with the aunt who had taken her and Isabelle in after their parents had died in a plane accident.

Louise held the door open for her to pass. These days, Tracey could walk normally without a cane and had the run of the floor.

Four months ago, the doctors said there was no hope, yet here you are alive, amazingly healthy and more beautiful than ever. A miracle has happened. As for Tracey, her eyes were a translucent green, darkly lashed, and set in an oval face with high cheekbones and classic features framed by ash blond hair, the odd Saxon throwback her sandyhaired father used to tease her. We have four months of catching up to do. Tell me about Isabelle. How is she?

How are Bruce and Alex? I just realized I have a sister with a family. Tracey asked one question after another as they walked arm in arm down the hall.

All of them, Tracey cried, so delighted to see her aunt, she felt euphoric. Come and sit down over here by me, she insisted, patting the couch. The furnishings reminded Tracey more of an elegant hotel suite than a hospital room, a fact her aunt commented on, as well. Now tell me everything. Well… Rose nervously tucked a loose strand of hair into the back of her chignon. Aunt Rose—I know that look. I can see that, darling, and I thank God for your remarkable recovery.

The truth is— she eyed Tracey uneasily —Isabelle is expecting another baby and she has dreadful morning sickness. Oh, dear. She suffered from that with Alex, too. But how wonderful to be pregnant, to be a mother at all.

Her voice ached with longing for things she felt would always elude her, like a family of her own. Tracey nodded. So do I. On a burst of energy, she jumped to her feet. While he was having his second birthday party, I was in that coma. She cast a guilty glance at her aunt. But I feel like my whole life has been spent inside these walls.

Of course you are. Anyone would feel the same way. The doctors only plan to keep you here a little longer. Tracey sighed. I wish I could leave with you right now. It will be heaven to sail under the bridge and feel the wind in my face again.

Aunt Rose? A-am I a freak of nature or something? Groaning, Tracey clasped her arms to her waist. Fresh tears spilled down her cheeks. Hush, darling. Pular no carrossel. Anterior no carrossel. Explorar E-books. Os mais vendidos Escolhas dos editores Todos os e-books.

But what Tracey hasn’t counted on is that Julien has more than just memories on his side. A set of adorable triplets who need their mom to come home. It seems Tracey has only one motive for leaving and three compelling reasons why she should stay.
